This opportunity sits within an exceptionally successful hedge fund that continues to scale following a period of sustained growth. As a result, the firm is looking to appoint a newly created Finance Transformation / Group Finance Controller role to support the continued development of the finance function and help build a more automated, data-led, and scalable operating platform.
Reporting into the CFO, the role will sit within a collaborative Group Accounts team of 5 and will have broad exposure across the firm’s global management company structure, covering several jurisdictions. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing core finance activities across the group, while also driving projects that improve efficiency, control, reporting quality, and decision-making.
Responsibilities will include managing external advisors in the preparation of statutory and management accounts, overseeing audits across regulated and unregulated entities, and leading regulatory reporting requirements, including ICARA. The role will also support tax, fund finance, operational finance, and wider regulatory workstreams, offering excellent breadth across a complex international hedge fund platform.
A major focus of the position will be the development and enhancement of financial planning and analysis capabilities, including budgets, forecasts, liquidity analysis, management reporting, and ad hoc analysis for senior stakeholders. In addition, the individual will be expected to contribute meaningfully to the evolution of the finance function through automation, AI-enabled process improvement, workflow optimisation, and the development of proprietary tools that reduce manual work, improve controls, and enhance the quality of financial insight across the business.
The team is looking for a fully qualified accountant with a minimum of five years’ post-qualified experience. Prior hedge fund experience is highly desirable, although candidates from other buy-side environments will also be considered.
This is a newly created and highly important hire for the business, offering the successful candidate the chance to shape finance processes, reporting infrastructure, and automation initiatives at a growing, best-in-class hedge fund. The firm is prepared to offer a highly competitive compensation package, likely representing a meaningful uplift on current total compensation. They are based in modern Mayfair offices and have a collaborative, progressive, and high-performance culture.
