Financial Investigation Manager (DP)

Environmental Crime Unit, Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA)


SALARY: Salary will be within the range £47,304 – £49,515 within which pay progression will be performance related.


LOCATION: These posts will be based in Environmental Crime Unit in Lisburn.


REF: IRC324281


The post holder will report to the Grade 7, Financial Investigation & Business Support Branch, Environmental Crime Unit, and will be responsible for the daily management of financial investigations within the Branch.


The role of this team involves conducting confiscation and money laundering investigations, and cash seizure/forfeiture investigations in support of Operations Branch and other units throughout the department who investigate incidents of environmental crime in order to bring offenders before the courts when criminal offences have been committed.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA


Applicants must, by the closing date for applications:


1. Hold and maintain a financial investigator accreditation by the National Crime Agency and hold Part 4 or Part 2 & Part 8 Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) powers. This includes accredited candidates who have been granted voluntary suspension by the NCA within the past 12 months.


AND

2. At least four years’ experience of carrying out and managing financial investigations.


AND

3. A minimum of 2 years’ experience of effective leadership, setting strategic direction and managing resources to successfully deliver business objectives in a complex and changing environment.


AND

4. A minimum of 2 years’ experience of building constructive, positive and collaborative partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior management, to effectively deliver significant organisational objectives.


AND

5. Have a full valid driving licence which permits the licence holder to drive in Northern Ireland and/or have access to a form of transport that allows the officer to fulfil their duties in full.


Applications will also be considered from applicants with relevant formal qualifications considered by the selection panel to be of an equivalent or higher standard to those stated.

If you believe your qualification is equivalent to the one required, the onus is on you to provide the panel with details of modules studied etc so that a well-informed decision can be made.
