About us

Every refrigerated truck and trailer moving goods across the country has relied on diesel for decades. It's polluting, expensive, and the technology hasn't change. Two companies have dominated the market, selling the same legacy technology with minor updates.

Sunswap makes the electric refrigeration that's replacing it - zero emissions, lower operating costs, built from the ground up for how fleets actually operate. We've gone from founding to manufacturing at scale globally in just six years. We built our own production facility in Surrey. We are trusted by major brands like Tesco, Ocado, Birds Eye, and Happy Eggs every single day. With units operating across the UK, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Chile, and Australia.

We've been named Sunday Times Best Place to Work 2024 and 2025. We've won awards for innovation, technology, and marketing excellence. We've secured backing from BGF, Barclays, and Clean Growth Fund. We've got the customers, the traction, and the momentum.

Now we're taking this British-engineered product global. Scaling manufacturing. Opening new markets. Building the team that will make legacy polluting technology obsolete across the world.

If you want to be part of a company that's setting new standards for the industry and scaling internationally, this is it.

Job overview

We’re looking for a commercially driven finance professional who thrives on turning complex data into clear strategic insight. This is a high-impact role at the heart of decision-making, where you’ll build robust financial models, shape forecasting strategy, and influence senior leadership with actionable analysis.

You’ll lead cash flow and working capital forecasting, partner cross-functionally with Finance, Commercial, and Supply Chain teams, and play a key role in pricing strategy, margin optimisation, and investment case evaluation. From scenario modelling to long-term planning, your work will directly inform business performance and growth.

If you’re analytically sharp, Excel-expert level strong, commercially curious, and confident communicating financial insights to non-finance stakeholders, this is an opportunity to step into a visible, strategic role with real influence.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to analyse business performance, forecast financial trends, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead short-term and long-term working capital and cash flow forecasting, including revenue timing and recognition in partnership with Finance and Commercial teams.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis including scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis, and variance analysis.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure accurate revenue forecasts, pipeline assumptions, pricing inputs, and Bill of Materials (BoM) cost targets are reflected in all modelling.
  • Support the Commercial team in evaluating customer pricing propositions and assessing margin impact.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities and investment cases to guide strategic direction.
  • Perform market research and extract relevant industry data to inform financial assumptions and benchmarking.
  • Provide clear analysis of trends and forecasts to senior management, recommending actions to improve business performance.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
  • Utilise financial modelling tools and systems, including Microsoft Dynamics, to enhance accuracy, automation, and reporting efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial modelling methodologies and financial reporting automation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial best practice, market trends, and industry conditions.

  • Qualifications & experience

    • Technical Skills: Expert-level Microsoft Excel and experience with BI tools.
    • Analytical Ability: Strong numerical, logical, and interpretive skills to analyze trends and financial data.
    • Background: 3-5+ years in finance, accounting, or corporate development, potentially with experience in investment banking.
    • Communication: Ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Mathematics.
    • Professional certification (CFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
