Description

The FinOps Lead is a crucial role driving financial efficiencies, accountability, transparency along with value optimisation across our multi cloud environment. The role bridges finance, technology and product teams to ensure delivery of cloud business strategy, investment decisions and cost-efficiency goals.


The role will champion FinOps principles to improve cost management, optimise cloud consumption, and support the organisation in scaling while cultivating a culture of cost-consciousness across the engineering teams.



What you will be doing


  • Lead cloud financial planning cycles (budget/ forecast/ actuals) ensuring accuracy, transparency and alignment with technology and business strategy.
  • Analyse cloud cost drivers and consumption patterns, delivering insights and cost trends and outline opportunities for optimisation.
  • Partner with cloud engineering and platform teams to align architectural decisions and hold the team accountable managing cost constraints.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to technology and business leaders on cloud economics, investment trade-offs, and financial implications of architectural choice.
  • Strengthen governance frameworks for cloud spend, ensuring compliance and internal cost-management policies.
  • Support vendor negotiations, contract renewals, and cost-performance benchmarking.



About you


  • Background in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), management accounting or finance business partnering. (Ideally with a professional qualification)
  • Experience managing technology and/or cloud-based spend within complex organisation.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into financial implications.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with non-finance, engineering, architecture, procurement, and senior leadership.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to challenge constructively.
  • Skilled in presenting complex financial and technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset.


  • Interview process


    The interview process for this role is two stages including a technical competency-based question and a task.



    Working Schedule


    This role is based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern.
