Contract: Food

Location: South of England (Hybrid role with travel)

Hours of work: 40

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract - 12 months

We are seeking a Food Training Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality training and creating engaging learning content across our food and facilities management operations.

This role will heavily involve on‑site training delivery and the design of learning materials that build food service capability, improve compliance and enhance service standards across retail, catering, hospitality and facilities environments.

Job Description

We are looking for a hands‑on training professional who can support the full learning cycle, from identifying training needs through to facilitating face‑to‑face and virtual learning and coaching teams in operational settings.

Working closely with operational leaders, culinary teams, HSEQ and the L&D Manager, the Food Training Manager will ensure training standards are consistently applied and aligned to food safety legislation, brand standards and audit requirements.

This is a highly mobile role, requiring regular travel (primarily across the South of England), and a UK driving licence is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, practical on‑site training across food safety, culinary skills, service standards and operational excellence.
  • Design, develop and maintain training content including eLearning, classroom materials, guides, toolkits and videos.
  • Use authoring tools such as Adapt, Articulate or Elucidat to create and update learning materials.
  • Support training delivery, tracking and development through the in‑house Learning Management System (My Learning).
  • Conduct learning needs analysis by working closely with managers and sites to identify capability gaps and priorities.
  • Provide hands‑on coaching to colleagues and managers, embedding learning into day‑to‑day operations.
  • Ensure all training aligns with food safety legislation, company policies, brand standards and compliance requirements.
  • Evaluate the impact of training and contribute to the continuous improvement of learning programmes and frameworks.

  • About You

    • Proven track record of delivering training and coaching in an operational environment.
    • Experience within food service, hospitality, catering or a culinary setting.
    • Experience developing training content or supporting L&D programmes.
    • Strong food safety knowledge, with Level 3 certification desirable.
    • Training qualification desirable but not essential (experience considered).
    • Good MS Office skills, particularly PowerPoint and Excel (beginner to intermediate).
    • Experience managing diaries and travel arrangements.
    • Strong alignment with the values of ISS as a business.
    • Full UK driving licence required.
