We currently have a Fostering Family Worker in the Fostering Service as part of our ongoing mission to improve the quality of support available to looked after children and foster carers. Applicants will be enthusiastic, creative, and flexible, with significant knowledge and experience of safeguarding children. The post holder will ideally hold a professional qualification in a childcare related field (Minimum Level 3 NVQ or equivalent).
You should have excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Relevant experience of working with children and families is also an essential requirement of the role. Recording, report-writing, and IT skills are also essential, along with an ability to work on your own initiative and as an effective member of a team.
We are looking for a Fostering Family Worker who has excellent organisational skills and an ability to establish good working relationships to achieve specified goals. You will also have a flexible commitment to work out of hours at times to carry out duties as and when required by the service. This post requires regular travel around Nottinghamshire and at times this could involve travel to other areas of the UK.
The role of the Fostering Family Worker is to primarily support placement stability for children/young people and increase carer confidence in utilising therapeutic parenting techniques to support positive outcomes. Fostering Family Workers undertake therapeutic training / support to our foster carers and direct work with children in care, or with the children of foster carers. You must be willing to engage in any further training offered if you are not already DDP, Theraplay or PACE trained. If successful, you will be joining an established team of workers, where your development will be supported throughout your time in the team.
