Founding Engineer (Robotics/AI Platform)

Want to work on a new software platform designed to dramatically speed up how robots and complex machines are engineered?

A venture-backed deep-tech company is developing an AI-powered engineering platform aimed at transforming how cyber-physical systems are designed, simulated, and built. The product combines elements of CAD, simulation, and machine learning to help engineers develop robotics and advanced machines faster and more efficiently.

You’ll join as one of the Founding Engineers in a small, highly technical team, working closely with technical leadership to build core parts of the platform.

The technology is being applied across areas such as robotic system integration, lab automation, advanced manufacturing, and dexterous manipulation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build core components of a new AI-driven engineering platform
  • Work closely with technical leadership to deliver key features across the product roadmap
  • Build core infrastructure for simulation, optimisation, and control of complex physical systems.
  • Speak with users to understand real engineering workflows and translate them into product features
  • Take ownership of projects from early concept through to production deployment

  • What They’re Looking For

    • 2+ years of experience developing highly technical software products, or a PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
    • Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience working with large or complex codebases
    • Experience working with robotics, control systems, or physics-based environments
    • Product-minded engineers who enjoy turning technical ideas into working tools
    • Strong Python experience and familiarity with modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX

Experience in one or more of the following areas:

    • Numerical optimisation

    • Generative AI systems

    • Physical simulation or scientific computing

    • Robotic control methods

    • Geometry processing or computational modelling

    Nice to Have

    • Experience joining startups as an early engineer
    • Experience working directly with customers or users to shape product development
  • Additional programming experience with languages such as C++ or C#
  • GPU acceleration or CUDA development experience
  • Experience with visual computing tools such as NVIDIA Warp or Taichi
  • Experience building tools within simulation environments such as Unity or NVIDIA Omniverse

  • Offices in London – 3-5 days onsite.

Salary up to £90,000 + equity
