St George’s Church Southall is seeking a Full-Time Youth Worker to play a key role within the Transforming Southall and Hounslow Youth Network, helping to deliver a vibrant, welcoming, and sustainable youth ministry in one of London’s most diverse communities.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Helping lead youth ministry across Southall, running weekly discipleship activities, Sunday groups, Bible studies, and outreach events.
- Build and nurture one youth congregation with young people from across Southall’s six Anglican churches.
- Build relationships with local schools, non-Anglican churches and youth organisations.
- Establish a pilot community hub on the nearby Lancaster Road Estate to engage young people from unchurched backgrounds.
- Use the opportunity of the reclaimed Wolf Fields park site to develop young people’s awareness and service of Creation Care.
- Recruit, train, and support a team of volunteers and future youth work apprentices across six Anglican churches
- Plan and deliver holiday programs, trips, and events for youth across the Transforming Southall and Hounslow mission area.
- Manage administrative tasks, including creating rotas, carrying out risk assessments, writing reports etc.
- Support the Youth Director, who will be in charge over strategic development across all 6 Southall churches in developing a strategy for the mission area.
Essential
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience leading youth work and discipling young people.
- Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
- Experience of working in diverse and multi-ethnic communities.
- Understanding of adolescent development and outreach methods.
- Commitment to safeguarding, child protection processes and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
- Ability to lead teams and work collaboratively with church and community partners.
- A committed Christian, actively involved in church life.
Desirable
- Mentoring or coaching experience.
- Some experience conducting risk assessments and ensuring health and safety compliance.
- First aid qualification or willingness to obtain it.
