An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced leader to become a key member of the Surgery & Digestive Diseases Clinical Service Unit (CSU) leadership team.
The successful candidate will provide leadership and management support to ensure high quality, safe, effective and patient centred services across the CSU.
Working alongside the Senior General Manager and Clinical Director the post offers career development and will be responsible for the delivery of financial, strategic and operational standards.
The post holder will be a role model for staff, demonstrating the Trust's values through their leadership behaviours, work collaboratively and be flexible and resilient in order to cope with the demands and changing needs of the service.
Strong influencing and negotiation skills will need be required and a demonstrable track record of delivery in a large and complex operational setting.
An experienced, motivated and independently minded leader who can act on their own initiative, adopting a values led 'can do' style within a climate of constant change and uncertainty to develop and manage the day to day operations and performance within a Clinical Service Unit.
Reporting to the Clinical Director or the Senior General Manager as appropriate, the post holder is responsible, in conjunction with the CSU triumvirate, for the safe and effective delivery of all patient services within the CSU. This involves achievement of all operational performance targets, including access, finance, and quality.
The postholder is also responsible for improving services in line with best practice standards within the available income.
Working closely with the triumvirate, the General Manager will ensure that the CSU has systems in place to comply with relevant legislation and governance requirements.
The General Manager will establish and foster an effective working relationship with the Corporate Operations Team, Clinical Directors, Deputy Directors of Nursing, Specialty Leads and Matrons to lead improvements in operational performance, service delivery and the achievement of organisational priorities.
