The Vacancy

Leap Environmental an RSK Group company are recruiting for a Project Engineer to join the team based in Crawley, UK. This is a full time, permanent position. You will be required to work in the office 2-3 days a week, plus site work.

Responsibilities:

• Undertaking investigations with both a geotechnical and an environmental content as directed by the Project Manager – seeing the Project through from commencement to completion.
• All project work must be carried out with due diligence, adhering to the relevant Technical and Operational procedures and completed within the given cost budgets and time scales agreed.
• Good communication is required to liaise directly with the Client periodically, providing regular updates and flagging up any issues or necessary changes to the scope and budget.
• It is expected that Consultant grade staff should be self-motivated, exhibit a proactive approach, and work well within a team environment.
• In addition to good technical and commercial understanding and ability, Consultant grade staff should also have a basic level of understanding of the principles of equality, diversity and inclusivity (EDI) and have an awareness of how RSK Geosciences staff can integrate sustainable development principles into their daily work.
  
  
  

Qualifications and Experience:

• Typically requires at least a first degree in a relevant discipline and 2 years specific relevant experience.
• Staff seeking to move from Graduate to Consultant grade would be expected to be able to demonstrate significant further advances in professional abilities since graduating and be equipped to start to take on preparation of small-scale tenders and full project management a small project, a number of small projects, or work as part of a large project team.

Have an understanding of the purpose of basic geotechnical tests and commence learning to schedule them appropriately

Have a basic understanding of different foundation options available for structures

Be aware of RSK Geosciences’ sustainability/ ESG plans and targets, contribute to achieving them and engage with project teams and/or clients on integrating sustainability into projects as relevant to the role
