Office-Based Geotechnical Engineer – Norwich


Next Geosolutions is continuing to grow and is looking to recruit an Office-Based Geotechnical Engineer to strengthen its onshore geotechnical team.


This role will act as a key liaison between the office and offshore operations, supporting offshore teams with day-to-day activities to maximise productivity, maintain high-quality deliverables, and respond effectively to client communications. The position is suitable for graduates/junior engineers seeking development as well as experienced professionals looking for a technically engaging, office-based role with offshore exposure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review geotechnical data received from vessels and support daily offshore activities
  • Write, review, and audit operational and final reports
  • Review client comments and prepare technical responses as required
  • Analyse and interpret seismic CPT, geotechnical, and engineering data
  • Liaise with internal teams and third-party laboratories for daily updates and general communication
  • Review and interpret laboratory test results
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure full project integration across disciplines

  • About You

    • Sound grounding in geotechnical engineering principles
    • Higher-level qualification in Geotechnics or a related discipline
    • Auditing experience (beneficial but not essential)
    • Marine or offshore experience (beneficial but not essential)
    • Intermediate MS Excel skills and strong MS Word capability
    • Strong written and spoken English
    • Willingness to travel occasionally
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Collaborative, supportive team player
    • Experience liaising between multidisciplinary teams
    • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
