Goods In and Administration Assistant
The Biodiscovery Institute (BDI) is a collaborative post-graduate research facility with academics from across six Schools at the University of Nottingham. The BDI comprises 3 buildings and contains a series of laboratories and office spaces supporting 850+ staff and students.
This crucial role is based within the BDI building support team goods in area which is dedicated to supporting the operation of the Institute.
It’s a busy goods-in receipting area and will receive, organise, and allocate all consumable equipment and laboratory goods deliveries for the Institute coordinating and documenting the deliveries and manning a goods in desk for distribution of the goods
In addition, you will be dealing with post and telephone enquiries, entering, and checking data in Excel, ordering consumables and covering front of house reception.
We have a team-orientated approach, and you should have excellent interpersonal, organisational, and written and verbal communication skills, and good attention to detail. The role will involve manual handling.
Candidates should have GCSEs at Grade C English, mathematics, or equivalent or considerable work experience in a relevant role.

- Generous holiday entitlement of 27days (or pro rata) plus standard bank holidays and five university closure days including closure between Christmas and New Year.
Your working hours will be, 18hours per week, Mon-Thurs 11am-2:30pm and Friday 10:30am-2:30pm.
