Are you passionate about delivering outstanding customer service? Do you enjoy working by the water in a vibrant, fast-paced environment? Crabbers’ Wharf is looking for a friendly, proactive Guest & Operations Assistant to join our growing team.

Based at Crabbers’ Wharf, a waterfront development of luxury holiday cabins in Castletown, Portland, this is a hands-on, varied role that combines guest experience with day-to-day site operations.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 1:00pm – 5:00pm
  • Saturday: Required on a rota basis
  • Additional hours available during peak periods (especially summer)

Pay

£13.00 – £15.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

What You’ll Do

Guest Experience & Check-Ins

  • Welcome guests and act as a key point of contact on arrival
  • Handle check-ins, guest queries, and issues in real time
  • Ensure every guest enjoys a smooth and memorable stay

Site Operations Support

  • Provide on-site support across the development
  • Assist with guest-facing activities, including pontoon and kayak use
  • Maintain a visible, approachable presence on site
  • Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns

Operations & Coordination

  • Monitor bookings, arrivals, and daily activity
  • Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and contractors
  • Ensure issues are logged, tracked, and resolved efficiently

Office & Administration

  • Manage emails, calls, and booking systems
  • Keep records and communications up to date
  • Support daily handovers and maintain operational flow

Essential

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in hospitality, customer service, or operational roles
  • Strong communication skills (phone, in-person, and written)
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • A proactive team player with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends

  • Desirable

    • Experience in holiday lets, leisure, or property
    • Experience coordinating with contractors or site operations

    Additional Information

    • Participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota is required
    • Opportunity for additional hours during busy periods
    • This role works closely with the Estate Manager and is expected to grow as the business expands
