Hazardous Area Response Teams (HART) is the generic term applied to staff recruited specifically to operate within the inner cordon or in hazardous environments. An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right individual to undertake a clinical leadership role within a team of 6 HART Paramedics.

The successful candidate must have current relevant HART qualifications.

The successful applicant will promote and ensure a high level of clinical competence within their HART team. This will involve undertaking clinical observation shifts with team members, undertaking clinical audits, leading on the clinical aspect of training and maintaining the clinical lead amongst their team at incidents.

Essential

• oHighly motivated to provide and engender the highest standard of professional practice

oKnowledge of clinical leadership in the Pre-hospital setting and able to demonstrate credibility.

oKnowledge and understanding of clinical care in hostile, austere and semi permissive environments.

oDemonstrate compassionate and inclusive clinical leadership.

oDemonstrable experience of line management responsibilities.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential

• oHCPC registered Paramedic working to full scope of autonomous practice
• oB.Sc. In Paramedic Practice or Health related Studies
• oRequirement to complete further study and successful completion of Level 7 module in Clinical Reasoning and Assessment Skills for Health Care.
• oFormal teaching or mentoring qualification at Level 3
• oFull UK Drivers Licence with cat C
• oAppropriate emergency driving qualification
• oNARU IRU Qualified
• oNARU USAR Qualified
• oSafe Working At Height Qualified
• oHigh Risk Confined Space Qualified

oSwift Water Rescue Technician Qualified

oLevel 3 Safeguarding

oInvestigation Training Level 1

Experience

• oExperience or Supervising/Mentoring others.

Physical Requirements

Essential

• oAbility to deliver high standards of clinical care at height and other areas of difficult access.
• oAbility to deliver high standards of clinical care in enclosed, confined spaces.
• oCapable of swimming 100m in still water and short distances in swift flowing water.
• oAbility to don specialist PPE for protracted periods of time.

Special Requirements

Essential

• oTo be part of 24/7 Response Team working unsocial hours.
• oLow level of absence due to sickness in the last two years.

oNo outstanding disciplinary sanctions.

oHold a valid UK driving licence with Class C1.

oFlexibility required surrounding shifts and time away from home, including the requirement to attend residential training courses to achieve required standards.

oAbility to be called for mutual aid with the possibility of overnight deployments beyond normal working patterns.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
