We're looking for a caring and motivated individual to support our Leg Ulcer Service across community clinics in Somerset.
This role offers the opportunity to assist in delivering high quality, compassionate care across a range of clinic sites. Working closely with registered nurses, you will help with clinical and practical tasks that support the smooth day-to-day running of the service and ensure patients feel well supported throughout their treatment.
Clinics take place in Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea, Taunton, Wellington, Minehead, Shepton Mallet and Wells. Travel to different sites is an essential part of the role, providing variety in your working week and the opportunity to work with colleagues across the county
Undertakes defined clinical or therapeutic interventions appropriately as delegated by a Registered Practitioner or as documented in the care plan
Support individuals with their identified health needs
Identify and respond to signs of pain or discomfort
Promote patient independence and assist with an individual's overall comfort and wellbeing
Support individuals with activities of daily living and to achieve their goals
Recognise deteriorations in physical and mental health and report appropriately
Demonstrate what it means in practice to provide person-centred care and support and promote health and wellbeing
Recognise limitations in mental capacity and respond appropriately
Perform basic life support for individuals using appropriate resuscitation techniques and equipment
Undertake a range of physiological measurements using the appropriate equipment
At times they may be considered a "lone worker" and as such will carry out and undertake familiar tasks with minimum supervision
