  • 🧭 Navigating the position: Head of Finance

    OneOcean is seeking a hands-on and transformational Head of Finance to lead the management reporting function across the Group. This role will take ownership of the month-end and management accounts processes, ensuring accurate, insightful, and timely financial reporting while driving improvements in quality, efficiency, and depth of analysis.

    Leading a team of three direct reports, the Head of Finance will reshape and redefine roles and responsibilities within the function, strengthening capability, accountability, and output standards. A key focus will be enhancing the accuracy and commercial value of group P&L reporting, delivering clear commentary and financial insights that support informed decision-making across the business.

    Working closely with the central Group Finance team, the role will contribute to the evolution of the target operating model, improving collaboration and alignment across the wider finance function. The successful candidate will bring strong management experience, particularly in reorganising processes and implementing improvements to systems and controls, ensuring a scalable and robust finance operation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the management accounting process across the group, Managing the team of management accountants
  • Redefining roles and responsibilities
  • Collaborating with central finance team to evolve our ongoing operating model
  • Responsible for group P&L control with commentary
  • Supporting group and local audits
  • Strong management experience including reorganising processes.
  • Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and systems to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and support business initiatives

  • Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

    • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience
    • Proven experience leading a management accounting / month-end reporting function within a multi-entity or group structure
    • Demonstrated team leadership experience, including restructuring teams, redefining roles, and improving performance standards
    • Strong ownership of group P&L reporting, with the ability to provide clear, commercially focused commentary and insight
    • Experience supporting external audits and managing relationships with auditors
    • Track record of process redesign and continuous improvement, driving greater accuracy, efficiency, and control
  • Experience operating within (or helping to evolve) a target operating model in collaboration with central or group finance functions
  • Strong financial systems capability, with experience improving reporting processes and controls
  • Ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights to support operational and strategic decision-making
  • Confident stakeholder engagement skills, with experience partnering with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
