BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Head of Health and Safety - Construction. A member of the UK&I HS&W leadership team and senior leader in BAM Construction, which also includes our FM business.
As Head of Health & Safety you will be providing competent H&S expertise and strategy to BAM Construction to help them achieve industry leading H&S performance. Leading the BAM Construction H&S department and working with and supporting the other members of the UK&I HS&W team.
This position can be based anywhere in the UK&I and will involve a mixture of working from home, projects and any UK&I office location.
Making Possible
* Support industry leading H\&S performance based on the divisional H\&S strategy
* Develop and deliver an Construction H\&S strategy
* Work with HR, L\&D and the Construction leadership team to ensure that persons working in the are competent in HS\&W in line with company HS\&W requirements
* Provide competent H\&S support and advice to the Construction leadership team
* Ensure high levels of HS\&W support is provided to the Construction division at all stages of the construction life cycle (work winning, pre-construction, construction, and completion)
* Ensure implementation and embedment of divisional HS\&W strategy objectives
* Influencing and working with the Construction Leadership Team to ensure that they lead and positively engage in H\&S
* Create and promote a positive H\&S reporting culture
* Lead by example and promote the creation of positive working environments and Everyone Safe and Well Every Day.
* Embedment of divisional HS\&W strategy objectives so that they become ‘business as usual’
* Evidence of a highly engaged Construction leadership team in H\&S matters
* Achievement of Divisional and Segment H\&S performance metrics
* High quality Construction H\&S reports and data
* Evidence of high-quality incident management
* High quality H\&S communication alerts
* Evidence of H\&S reward and recognition.

What do you bring to the role?
• Experience of a carrying out a strategic leadership position
• Minimum of 10-years’ experience in HS&W
• Experience of carrying out highly technical H&S support to complex
• Infrastructure or Construction projects
• Experience of Facilities Management is desirable
• High level understanding of root cause analysis
• Strong people leadership skills and history of managing a team of direct reports
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• A track record of implementing tangible HS&W improvement
• A positive, solution based attitude
• Ambition to develop yourself personally and professionally
• Ability to travel across the UK&I when required
