The HO [IP] Network Architecture role reports to Director of Network Strategy & Architecture (NSA) in Group Networks. The NSA directorate includes also Data Science teams that, among other things, cover strategic planning, and thus have a close relationship with Architecture. This directorate also includes Group Content Delivery, which is another important interface given the role of video in driving “network volume, reliability requirements and consequently architecture.
This role will work alongside other Group Networks architecture functions (Mobile, Systems/E2E, Video)
What You'll Do
Lead a small but expert group of network specialists (~5) cross territory
Focus on solution architecture for key projects
Develop and support delivery against a long term roadmap
Lead x-domain architecture with other HOs and Principals, inc. interface x-market and Sky/Comcast group
Handle ad-hoc architecture support requests
Lead ideation for operational improvements and efficiency
What You'll Bring
Experience leading a Telco architecture function – depending on environment this may be technical architecture, enterprise architecture, smaller or larger team, but SME across some and exposure across many disciplines is expected.
Deep understanding of Telco disciplines & experience in a broad range of network technologies and vendors – e.g., access technologies, in-home, optical, IP, signalling protocols, common Internet standards, common applications’ requirements
Experience with essential “non-transport” technologies e.g., public and private cloud, Network OSS stack, DNS etc.
Experience managing business cases, cost modelling and major procurement activities
A broad understanding of Internet tech and context – security, common applications, broader eco-system (e.g., peering, CDNs) regulation
