Could you be the leader we need to oversee our diocesan growth strategy across our churches in Sussex?
With an agreed Diocesan Growth Strategy, and initial funding from the National Church of England, we are seeking a Head of Strategic Programmes to lead on the oversight and delivery of our strategic projects and growth strategy at the Diocese of Chichester.
This is a key role in the life of the Diocese, and you will be working with our Bishops, Archdeacons and senior leadership team at Church House to shape projects, effect change and deliver and monitor growth within a faith context.
We are looking for a skilled leader who and has experience of managing strategic and complex programmes and who can ensure that resources are managed effectively and in alignment with the diocesan strategy.
The Principal Duties Include
- Working with colleagues to manage and execute the Diocesan Growth Strategy
- Researching and writing applications & bids for future Diocesan Investment Programme funding
- Overseeing the management of projects within the portfolio of diocesan strategic programmes
- Operating the programme governance framework and servicing the Diocesan Strategic Programmes Board
- Leading and managing the Strategic Management team
Our ideal candidate will:
- Have experience of leading complex and large programmes of work with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Be able to think and work strategically within a faith-based context
- Have good knowledge of project management - including controlling risks, budgets and change management
- Be able to produce data-informed reports and applications for funding
- Have the self-motivation and enthusiasm to lead and inspire others

- A salary of £59,000 per annum.
