Role outline and purpose
Lord Wandsworth College is seeking a Manager for our brand new Health and Fitness Centre The Grange from September 2025. The successful candidate will be an experienced Strength and Conditioning instructor, with the leadership and management skills to support the Director of Sport in running The Grange and the vision to support the development of health, fitness and leisure facilities over the next few years.
The Health And Fitness Centre Manager Will
- Be responsible for managing facilities and staff across The Grange in conjunction with the LWC Director of Sport and LWC Enterprises.
- Deliver Strength and Conditioning Training within The Grange.
Role Responsibilities
- Managing all facilities within The Grange, including The Barn and the Swimming Pool. This includes equipment care and ensuring safe operating procedures.
- Providing advice and support on the design and development of the remaining aspects of The Grange, which will include a cardio suite, Pilates studio and rehab suite.
- Work with LWC Enterprises to identify income generation opportunities.
- Support the development of The Grange as a commercial enterprise from September 2026.
- Line management of staff employed with the Grange.
- Working with the Director of Sport and Heads of Sport to provide S&C programmes which improve performance and prevent injury of pupils within each sport.
- Working with LWC Staff and coaches to ensure they can supervise pupil S&C training safely and effectively.
- Deliver sport-specific S&C sessions to individuals, teams and squads.
- Provide 1:1 S&C sessions to Sports Scholars, working in conjunction with their LWC mentors and external coaches to support elite performance pathways.
- Support the Academic PE department in delivering sessions within The Barn.
- Deliver induction sessions for staff and Sixth Form pupils to ensure safe training within The Grange.
- Mentoring staff and pupils to develop S&C skills.
- Oversight of rehabilitation programmes for injured pupils, in conjunction with relevant medical professionals.
- Working with Director of SEND to design specialist S&C programmes to support students.
- Support to Admissions activity including open mornings, open days, induction events and sports scholarship assessments.
