We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Health Based Place of Safety Support Worker to join our dedicated team. The Health Based Place of Safety provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals detained under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act, who require urgent mental health assessment and care.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in supporting individuals during what can often be a highly distressing time. You will assist in maintaining a safe, calm, and therapeutic environment while supporting clinical staff in the assessment and care of people using the service.
This is a rewarding role suited to individuals who are calm under pressure, able to communicate effectively, and committed to delivering compassionate, person-centred care.
- Support the safe and effective running of the Health Based Place of Safety.
- Provide practical and emotional support to individuals detained under the Mental Health Act.
- Assist qualified staff with observations, engagement, and risk management.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for both patients and staff.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies including police, ambulance services, and mental health teams.
- Accurately document care, incidents, and relevant information in line with organisational policies.
- Support the admission and discharge processes within the service.
