An opportunity has arisen for Health Improvement Advisors to join the team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.

University Hospitals Derby & Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB) acting as host for wellbeing services across the Joined Up Care Derbyshire (JUCD) system, are recruiting to support the delivery of our health improvement, peer psychological support, and wider health and wellbeing services to system partners.

The service adopts an innovative and proactive approach to supporting its colleagues within a dedicated, multi-disciplinary wellbeing team, set up to provide rapid access to assessment and local evidence-based health improvement services to keep colleagues healthy, safe and well in work.

The team of Health Improvement Advisors are responsible for supporting the development and delivery of wellbeing interventions, with a specific focus on engaging colleagues in structured health improvement programmes and initiatives.

We are looking to fulfil 45hrs / week, which will be based predominantly within UHDB supporting the delivery of proactive health and wellbeing interventions to our contracted partners across Derbyshire. This includes Primary Care, Local authority and City councils. Activities are designed to keep colleagues well in work and address key reasons for absence, including traumatic incident response, reflective practice and mental health conversations training.

You Will Work As Part Of a Wider, Multi-professional People Services Team Within The Occupational Health, Safety And Wellbeing Department, And In Particular Your Remit Will Focus On The Following Activities

  • Delivery of timetabled activities
  • Targeted health awareness interventions (such as menopause awareness, stop smoking etc.)
  • Peer Psychological Support
  • Introductory health interventions
  • Supporting return to work and sickness absence
  • Healthy eating support and physical activity guidance
  • Lifestyle and wellbeing screening and signposting

  • You will also work on various wellbeing projects providing advice and guidance to stakeholders, ensuring that the system follows current best practice in health and wellbeing provision for its people.

    You will work closely with the Head of Wellbeing and Workforce Health to support internal and external stakeholders to establish support services and referral pathways across Derbyshire.
