About The Role
Join our Living Placesteam and play a vital role in keeping Warwickshire / Solihull roads, footways, and public spaces safe, accessible, and well-maintained.
As a Highways Maintenance Operative on the HMC16 contract, you will work across various locations throughout Warwickshire / Solihull, carrying out essential specialist operational activities that directly support the county's highway network.
The purpose of this role is to apply your comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience to deliver a wide range of highway construction and maintenance tasks to the highest standards of health, safety, and quality, while working efficiently at a commercial pace.
Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include
- Pothole and patch repairs
- Footway reconstruction
- Bollard repair and installation
- Fencing works
- Strimming and vegetation management
- Laying drainage systems and pavements
- Placing street ironwork (manhole covers, gullies etc.)
- Excavating holes and trenches
This is a practical, hands-on position ideal for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, understands the importance of safe working practices, and enjoys contributing to the day-to-day upkeep of the county's infrastructure.
