About The Role
Balfour Beatty is looking for a Highways Maintenance / Traffic Management Operative to join our Warwickshire contract. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll work across a variety of highway maintenance and traffic management activities, helping to keep local road networks safe and operational.
You’ll use your experience and practical skill to deliver works safely, efficiently and to a high standard, ensuring all activities meet required Health, Safety and Quality expectations.
What you'll be doing
Installing, maintaining, adjusting and removing temporary traffic management including signs, cones, barriers, stop/go boards and portable traffic signals.
Working in line with Chapter 8, NHSS 12D and site‑specific risk assessments and method statements.
Supporting lane closures, road closures, diversions and pedestrian management layouts.
Carrying out a broad range of highway maintenance works, including:
Pothole and patch repairs
Footway and carriageway construction
Kerbing, block laying and slabbing
Drainage works and ironwork installation
Bollard, fencing and small civils repairs
Using plant, tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Organising and monitoring materials and supplies on site.
Supporting emergency response works and winter service delivery (including gritting).
Working flexibly across shift patterns, including out‑of‑hours when required.
Acting as a professional ambassador for Balfour Beatty at all times.
