Join us and help create safe, supportive homes
We’re excited to be growing our Housing Team and are looking for Housing Officers to join us at an important and positive time of development.
Housing Officers play a key role in delivering high‑quality supported housing services, providing legal and regulatory compliance while helping to create safe, sustainable and inclusive communities for people with learning disabilities.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives while contributing to Mencap’s mission and supporting delivery of the Property sub-strategy.
This is a full-time, permanent role (37.5 hours per week), primarily home-based, with travel required to deliver services and to attend meetings at Mencap offices and sites across the UK as required.
Travel requirement:
The posholder will be required to use their own vehicle for business purposes and must hold valid business‑use insurance. While the salary does not include a car or cash allowance, mileage will be reimbursed in line with HMRC rates (45p per mile for the first 10,000 miles per year, and 25p per mile thereafter).
About the role
As a Housing Officer, you’ll take ownership of a designated patch of properties, delivering locality‑based housing management services to tenants with learning disabilities.
You’ll provide proactive, person‑centred support to help tenants sustain their tenancies and feel safe and empowered in their homes.
