About The Role

As a HR Advisor (Policy, Pay and Reward), you will help develop high‑quality HR policies, deliver pay and reward initiatives, and provide expert advice across the council. You will work collaboratively to support the delivery of an excellent employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing policies, procedures, guidance and flowcharts
  • Producing standard letters and documentation
  • Delivering training and updates on policy, pay and reward
  • Providing advice on policy, pay, job evaluation and reward queries
  • Supporting the job evaluation process
  • Contributing to policy, pay and reward projects
  • Working closely with trade unions and HR colleagues
  • Keeping up to date with employment legislation and best practice

About You (Essential Criteria)

  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with HR, managers, legal and trade union colleagues
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to provide clear HR advice and guidance
  • Confidence to suggest improvements and challenge the status quo
