We are seeking a hands‑on HR Business Partner to support UST’s growth in the UK. This role requires an experienced HR professional who is equally comfortable operating at a strategic level and rolling up their sleeves to deliver day‑to‑day HR activity

.

You will personally manage complex employee relations cases, manage TUPE and related change activity, and work closely with leaders to execute workforce plans.

This is an embedded, delivery‑focused HR role, requiring strong judgement, resilience, and the ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced environment.

The Opportunity:

Employee Relations – End‑to‑End Ownership

  • Take full ownership of complex employee relations cases, including grievances, disciplinaries, performance management, sickness absence, and conflict resolution.
  • Draft and issue formal correspondence, prepare case documentation, and attend meetings as the HR lead.
  • Provide clear, practical coaching to managers while retaining direct accountability for case outcomes.

Stakeholder & Employee Engagement

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders through visible, credible, and responsive HR support.
  • Support and guide senior management including preparation, consultation, and issue resolution.
  • Establish and actively participate in employee forums, ensuring concerns are addressed and actions followed through.

  • Engagement, Retention & Culture

    • Design and personally implement engagement and retention initiatives.
    • Support wellbeing, inclusion, and performance initiatives through direct involvement with managers and employees.
    • Actively role‑model UST’s values in all people interactions.

    Policy, Governance & Compliance

    • Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices are applied consistently and practically across the business in line with HR best practice and local legal requirements
    • Update, adapt, and operationalise policies where required to meet business needs and legislative changes.
    • Maintain accurate case records and documentation to support audit and compliance requirements.

    Hands‑On HR Business Partnering

    • Act as the primary HR point of contact for senior leaders and managers for a division of UST, providing pragmatic, solutions‑focused HR support.
    • Personally deliver HR activity end‑to‑end, rather than operating through a centre‑of‑excellence or advisory model.
  • Balance strategic input with operational execution, ensuring HR initiatives are implemented effectively and consistently.

  • Workforce Planning, Talent & Succession

    • Work directly with management teams to develop and implement workforce plans, aligned to business priorities and capability needs.
    • Support leaders in identifying key roles and building succession pipelines, including practical development actions.
    • Contribute hands‑on input into talent decisions, redeployment activity, and role design.

    TUPE, Restructures & Organisational Change

    • Personally manage end‑to‑end TUPE processes, including due diligence, consultation, employee communications, and post‑transfer integration.
    • Lead restructures and organisational change activity from planning through execution, including consultation, documentation, and implementation.
    • Ensure all change activity is legally compliant, well‑communicated, and delivered with minimal disruption.

    HR Data, Insights & Reporting

    • Use HR data and workforce analytics to identify trends and risks, such as attrition, ER hotspots, or capability gaps.
  • Translate insight into practical actions, not just reports, supporting managers to address issues on the ground.

  • You Are

    • A hands‑on HR Business Partner with strong experience in IT Services, Consulting, or fast‑paced professional environments.
    • Comfortable owning ER cases, TUPE processes, restructures, and day‑to‑day HR delivery personally.
    • Pragmatic, resilient, and confident making decisions in complex and ambiguous situations.
    • A credible influencer who combines strong technical HR knowledge with commercial awareness.
    • CIPD Qualified
