We’re looking for a proactive and dynamic individual to join our Information Governance Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping how we manage and protect information across the organisation.
As an Information Governance Advisor, you’ll work closely as a business partner with one or more of our four departments, providing expert advice and guidance to help our services apply good, compliant practice in how they collect, use, and manage information.
Reporting to the Data Protection Officer, you’ll bring a strong working knowledge of information governance and a confident, solutions-focused approach. You’ll be comfortable working independently, navigating complex issues, and securing buy-in from key stakeholders - not just by ensuring compliance, but by helping drive meaningful change.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Leading the development and completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
- Investigating and advising on IG incidents
- IG thematic project work
- Providing clear, practical advice to services on a wide range of IG matters
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Communicates clearly and effectively
- Works collaboratively and can challenge constructively
- Presents information in an accessible and engaging way
- Has a positive, can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills
This is a first-class opportunity to join a leading local authority and make a real impact on how we do business. We offer a flexible, hybrid working model supported by excellent ICT infrastructure.
For an informal chat about this role, please contact Brendan Jennings, Senior Information Governance Advisor on 0115 804 2465 or Tim Boden, Senior Information Governance Advisor on 0115 8042192.
