As we continue to scale our international operations, we are looking for a hands-on IT Specialist to support and manage our cloud infrastructure, internal IT systems, and end-user environment.
WHAT’S THE CHALLENGE
The IT Specialist is responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and performance of PingPong’s IT infrastructure and enterprise systems in the UK and the EU. The role combines cloud infrastructure operations, internal systems administration, end-user technical support, and IT security monitoring.
You will ensure the smooth operation of critical business and technical systems across cloud platforms, middleware environments, office networks, and employee endpoints, while providing responsive support to internal teams.
WHO YOU’LL BE WORKING WITH
This role works closely with Engineering, Product, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure system reliability, security, and operational continuity.
You will also collaborate with external vendors and service providers supporting PingPong’s infrastructure and enterprise platforms.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Cloud Infrastructure Management
- Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure across Alibaba Cloud and AWS.
- Configure and maintain cloud networking, SLB (Server Load Balancer), and object storage services.
- Monitor and manage server capacity (CPU, memory, disk) and system performance.
Middleware and Platform Operations
- Support and maintain middleware services including:
- Configure and manage IT operations applications such as:
- Support system onboarding configuration and operational stability of platform services.
Business Systems Administration
- Administer internal business applications.
- Maintain access controls, perform account reviews, and support system configuration.
Information Security Management
- Construction of information security system for cloud and office, include WAF/IPS/EDR/Firewall/Anti-virus.
- Internal and external security penetration testing and security vulnerability management.
End-User IT Support
- Provide technical support to employees for corporate systems and productivity tools.
- Troubleshoot issues related to internal systems and applications.
- Set up and maintain employee workstations, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Support employee IT onboarding and offboarding processes, including system access management.
- Monitor security alerts and vulnerability notifications and apply patches where required.
Network & Office IT Management
- Manage office network infrastructure and access controls.
- Monitor VPN connections between office networks and cloud environments.
- Ensure reliable connectivity and security for office-based users.
IT Tools and System Administration
- Maintain and configure internal systems, including workflow configuration, updates, and access management.
- Support internal tooling and operational monitoring platforms.
WHAT YOU BRING
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in IT Operations, systems administration, security administration or cloud infrastructure support.
- Hands-on experience with cloud environments such as AWS and/or Alibaba Cloud.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix server environments and infrastructure monitoring tools.
- Experience supporting middleware technologies (Jenkins, Nginx, Tomcat, messaging systems).
- Knowledge of enterprise collaboration tools and endpoint management.
- Understanding of IT security practices, access control, and patch management.
WHO YOU ARE
- Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and English, both in writing and speaking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- A proactive problem-solver who enjoys troubleshooting technical issues.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to operational incidents.
- Collaborative and service-oriented with a strong internal customer mindset.
- Curious and continuously learning about new infrastructure technologies and security practices.
