About The Role

The Role

We are looking for an Initial Assessment Officer to cover Maternity leave for 9 months.

About You

The ideal candidate should have prior experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team setting and will possess the ability to make appropriate and robust decisions based on information provided by the homeless applicant, their advocates and other professionals supporting the applicant.

You will have a working knowledge of the relevant legislation relating to homelessness and housing needs, and experience of providing excellent customer service to service users within a housing context. You must also possess excellent written skills as you will be required to draft decisions that may be subjected to judicial scrutiny.

We are a friendly team and the main access point for residents of Islington needing housing advice and guidance.

If this sounds like a role you will thrive in and you relish a challenge to assist the service in reducing a backlog of decisions, we look forward to hearing from you.
