Job requirements
We are seeking a highly experienced audit professional to support the FY25 audit cycle by preparing, structuring, and enhancing audit workpapers. Success in this role means delivering a clean, complete, audit‑ready file with minimal oversight, creating consistency across documentation, and supporting efficient external audit review. The role directly contributes to wider business objectives by strengthening audit readiness, reducing audit risk, and bringing structure to a lean Finance function during a critical period.
Profile:
o 5+ years of audit experience, ideally including time at Audit Manager or Senior Manager level.
o Trained within a structured audit environment (regional, national, Top 20, or Big Four firm).
o Experience reviewing, correcting, or rebuilding client-provided audit files.
o Proven responsibility for delivering full audit sections and complete audit files.
Personal Attributes
o Highly organised, detail‑focused, and able to work effectively in a lean finance environment.
o Calm and professional under pressure, with the ability to deliver quickly to tight deadlines.
o Strong communicator, able to clearly articulate documentation needs and gaps.
o Practical, solutions‑oriented, and able to apply audit discipline without requiring business‑specific knowledge.
The ideal candidate will:
o Quickly assess existing workpapers and identify where rebuilding or standardisation is required.
o Create a consistent workpaper suite that can be reused across future audit cycles.
o Deliver a clean, well‑indexed audit file ready for external auditor review.
o Operate effectively without deep business knowledge by focusing on technical documentation quality.
o Provide stability and coverage during key periods, including when core team members are on leave.
