Interim Financial Controller – Technology / Managed Services
Contract: Interim (6 months)
Location: UK (Hybrid)
Day Rate: Competitive
We are currently partnering with a private equity backed technology services group to appoint an Interim Financial Controller to support the business through a period of operational improvement and finance systems transformation.
This is a hands-on role within a growing SME environment, working closely with senior leadership and the Managing Directors of several operating entities. The assignment will focus on strengthening financial processes, improving reporting, and supporting the rollout of a new finance system across the group.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the migration and implementation of a new finance system (Sage) across multiple business units
- Establish and embed robust month-end close processes and reporting frameworks
- Partner with MDs of individual subsidiaries to improve financial visibility and controls
- Implement best-practice finance processes across recently integrated or developing businesses
- Ensure accurate accounting for accrued and deferred income, particularly within a recurring revenue environment
- Provide hands-on financial control and operational support within a developing finance structure
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a qualified accountant with at least 5+ years PQE who is comfortable operating in a hands-on, evolving SME environment.
The successful candidate will bring:
- Strong finance systems experience, ideally including Sage implementation or migration
- Background in technology, SaaS, or recurring revenue business models
- Experience managing accrued and deferred revenue within subscription-based businesses
Key Deliverables (First 6 Months)
- Successful system migration and adoption across four business units
- Implementation of a consistent and reliable month-end process
- Improved finance structure, controls, and reporting standards
