What is an enabler?

Independence is the key to well-being. Reablement requires a multidisciplinary workforce to enable improvement in patient functioning and achievement of goals. You will be working alongside therapists, therapy assistants and senior enablers. Enablers support and motivate patients to regain their independence by following individualised service users goal plans. Involving service users to ensure they can regain their independence and achieve their goals. In other words, it’s helping people ‘to do’ rather than ‘doing’ to or for people.
