Internal Communications & Employee Engagement Manager

📍 Wolverhampton (Hybrid: 3–4 days in office)

💼 Permanent | Salary: £50,000–£55,000


Fortress Safety is growing — and we’re looking for an enthusiastic Internal Communications & Employee Engagement Manager to help shape how our global teams connect, communicate and thrive.

Purpose of the role:

The Internal Communications and Engagement Manager will be responsible for developing and executing an internal communications and engagement strategy. The role is responsible for translating corporate strategy into engaging communications that resonate with the diverse workforce.


The role will play an important part in creating an inclusive and engaged global workforce.


What you’ll be doing:


  • Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications and engagement strategy.
  • Identify and utilise communications channels to aid effective two-way communications.
  • Create high quality content and lead communications campaigns that promote organisational goals, values and projects.
  • Act as the interface between internal engagement and our external Brand and EVP development
  • Help to drive a culture where employees have freedom of opinion and help to facilitate feedback loops that can inform decision making.
  • Identify and implement activities and initiatives that help to drive collaboration and engagement across departments and geographies.
  • Own the internal communications platforms and systems, utilising data to draw insights on their effectiveness, adjusting strategies as required.
  • Provide advice to business stakeholders on communications opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support change management programmes with effective communications plans.
  • Identify opportunities for engagement building through events such as townhalls, awareness days, department spotlights.

  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

    • Global mindset.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with people from different levels and areas of the business.
    • Creative problem solver able to convey complex messages through the use of effective, engaging and creative communications.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Canva.
    • Ability to multitask, work to deadlines, prioritise under pressure and use own initiative.
    • Excellent team player with the ability to build effective team relationships and promote an environment of trust and flexibility.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Resolution and results driven with a flexible and can-do attitude.
    • Risk awareness handling confidential information with due diligence
