Are you ready to play a key part in driving performance at the highest level of motorsport? We are looking for an
Internal Manufacturing Technical Buyer to join us on a 12-month fixed term contract.
In this pivotal role, you will ensure the efficient, controlled, and timely procurement of high-quality components that meet the demands of a fast-paced Formula One manufacturing environment. Working closely with Manufacturing, Design, Production, Inspection, Stores, and our External Supply Chain, you will help keep performance on track.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the creation and processing of purchase orders for goods and services.
- Monitoring order status and maintaining communication with suppliers to guarantee timely delivery.
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships, resolving issues quickly and effectively.
- Assisting with supplier performance evaluation and sourcing new suppliers.
- Helping negotiate prices, terms, and conditions to ensure best value.
- Monitoring inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Coordinating with warehouse and stores on incoming shipments and inventory management.
- Providing market insights and recommendations to the Manufacturing team.
- Maintaining accurate purchasing documentation and preparing performance reports.
- Ensuring purchasing activities adhere to company policy, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Supporting process-improvement projects within procurement and manufacturing.
- Acting as a key supplier liaison to improve lead times, agility, delivery performance, and value.
- Assisting with onboarding new suppliers alongside Supplier Quality.
- Managing outside operations to achieve required material properties and quality standards.
- Any additional tasks aligned with the role as required.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Broad understanding of Formula One or similar high-performance manufacturing procurement, covering metallics, electronics, and workshop equipment.
- Strong knowledge of component manufacturing processes and assembly.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, or similar.
- Self-motivation, with the ability to inspire others in a challenging environment.
- Calm, confident decision-making under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Effective, positive, and respectful communication skills.
- Flexibility, teamwork, and readiness to adapt in a fast-moving environment.
