The International Public Fixed Income Team Lead is responsible for leading external fixed income fund manager sourcing, selection, and oversight across global markets, covering both active and passive investment strategies. It also involves contributing to internal portfolio design where relevant, ensuring diversified exposure across sectors, geographies, and maturities while managing key risks such as interest rate, duration, credit, and liquidity risk
Key Responsibilities:
External Manager Selection & Oversight
- Lead the sourcing, due diligence, selection, and onboarding of external fixed income managers across global credit and rates
- Monitor manager performance, mandate compliance, and risk metrics, preparing recommendations for reallocations or mandate changes
- Maintain strong relationships with external managers, consultants, index providers, and analytics firms to stay current on markets and product developments
Portfolio & Strategy Support
- Assess active and passive fixed income vehicles—including ETFs, index funds, and pooled vehicles—for suitability within the broader portfolio
- Provide input into global fixed income portfolio construction, incorporating manager insights, market conditions, and factor exposures
- Support internal oversight of any active or passive mandates to ensure alignment with strategic asset allocation
Governance, Risk & Reporting
- Ensure investment activities comply with regulatory standards, governance frameworks, and internal risk policies
- Develop and maintain performance and risk measurement frameworks for external mandates
- Coordinate with Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Asset Allocation teams to ensure robust oversight
Collaboration & Leadership
- Integrate global fixed income insights into broader investment strategy discussions
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Master’s degree in Finance, MBA or CFA designation is preferred
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 13 years of experience in fixed income portfolio management, with a strong focus on external manager selection across active and passive strategies
- Proven experience conducting manager due diligence, evaluating performance and risk, and managing external mandates
- Deep familiarity with active and passive fixed income instruments such as mutual funds, segregated mandates, ETFs, index funds, and other pooled vehicles
- Strong expertise in global fixed income markets, benchmarks, portfolio risk factors, and investment governance
- Experience collaborating with external managers, consultants, index specialists, and analytics providers
