Contract iOS Engineer – Central Government Project (Inside IR35)
I'm seeking an experienced iOS Engineer to join a high-impact Central Government project on an initial 3 month contract. This is an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful digital service used at scale, working within a collaborative, delivery-focused team.
Key Details:
- Contract Length: 3 months
- Day Rate: Up to £500 per day
- IR35 Status: Inside IR35
- Location: UK-based, fully remote
- Start Date: Immediate / ASAP
The Role:
You will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of a native iOS application as part of a Central Government digital programme. The work will involve building robust, secure, and user-focused features, aligned with public sector standards and best practices.
Essential Requirements:
- Strong commercial experience developing native iOS applications using Swift
- Proven experience working on Central Government projects (essential)
- Familiarity with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and accessibility requirements
- Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices and data protection considerations
Desirable:
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for iOS
- Knowledge of performance optimisation and scalability in mobile apps
- Previous experience delivering services to large user bases
