The post holder will take part in provision of care for the in-patients, perioperative care of patients undergoing surgery and outpatient clinics .
The post-holder will have opportunity to gain ENT experience in both clinics and theatre, as well as regularly participating in audit andpublications.
ENT is based at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital, which houses the main state of the art outpatient department and inpatient facility. Outpatients in Burnley are seen at St Peter's Centre in Burnley town centre. Same day surgery is also carried out at Burnley General Teaching Hospital.
The department has a high reputation for teaching and innovation, both regionally and nationally. Over 80% of all operations are carried out as day cases. Trust grade doctors will have a significant involvement in clinics and theatre lists.
The post is classed as non training grade but the department is fully committed to provide equivalent level of training to the post holder with a named clinical supervisor and regular appraisals. There is great opportunity to be involved with departmental audit and research projects. You will gain excellent clinical experience and have the opportunity to further your skills and attend theatres.
