Salary: £33,950 to £40,268 per annum plus 12.5% employer pension, private medical insurance, very flexible employer.

Summary

Great opportunity for someone looking to make the move from an Engineering role into project management! We’re looking for someone who can take accountability for the delivery of a portfolio of small projects that will offer a breadth of experience and give exposure to a range of sectors across NCC.

You will get the opportunity to develop both your project management and portfolio management skills and build a solid foundation for a career in project, programme, and portfolio management.

Specifically, you'll focus on the following activities;

• Responsible for supporting the successful execution of projects through any or all the phases of a project lifecycle: initiation, requirements capture, planning, execution and closure.
• Maintain up to date project plans covering all live and pipeline projects.
• Produce regular project reporting and management information.
• Ensure all project management processes are followed including: effective risk identification and mitigation, change control, maintenance of documentation logs, updating project reporting and creation and management of project plans.
• Support weekly and monthly project review meetings to ensure all elements of project delivery are achieved.
• Ensure all members of the project team have clear visibility of project booking codes and are accurately reflecting all the hours worked on the project
• Ensure all projects adhere to NCC quality, health and safety processes and actively promote a positive H&S culture within the team.
• Ensure all project plans are correctly resourced so that capacity planning can be conducted.

So, what are we looking for in your application?

Specific experience we will look for in your CV would include;

• Experience in a relevant engineering role (mechanical/materials in design or manufacture are ideal!) and looking to transition into project management.
• An understanding of what it’s like to work with or for small to medium (SME) sized companies and how they commonly operate.
• Eagerness to learn and develop project management skills
• Customer facing experience - this role will support the engineering team in determining customer requirements and scopes of work with strong value propositions.
• Communication - ability to bridge the gap between customers and engineers to ensure robust project scopes with clear deliverables.

In terms of personal qualities, we look for the following at interview stage; good interpersonal, organisational, facilitation skills and a pro-active person.
