Who we are

At Mercury, we’re redefining how recruitment and staffing firms use technology. Our cloud-based SaaS platform, built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform, helps businesses automate, scale, and perform at their best.

Founded in 2014, we’ve grown rapidly into a global organisation with teams across the UK, US, and Australia, trusted by more than 100 customers and 8,000 users. Our growth is powered by innovation and driven by people who care about doing great work. We believe in building technology that changes how the industry works and in creating an environment where talented people can do their best work every day.

What you’ll do

As a Junior QA Engineer at Mercury, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our market-leading SaaS platform. Working as part of an Agile, cross-functional development team, you’ll collaborate closely with Developers and Product Owners to test, refine and deliver high-quality software.

You’ll be involved in:

  • Building a strong working knowledge of our Mercury product suite.
  • Collaborating with the Product team to understand and refine requirements and agree acceptance criteria.
  • Planning, executing and documenting manual test cases.
  • Testing web-based applications and complex user interfaces.
  • Carrying out API testing using tools such as Postman, ReadyAPI or Swagger.
  • Logging and managing defects using Azure DevOps.
  • Supporting regression testing ahead of releases.
  • Working as part of an Agile development team (SCRUM / Kanban).
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our testing practices.
  • Developing your skills in automation testing (e.g. C#, Selenium WebDriver) as our automated coverage continues to grow.

  • What we’re looking for

We’re open-minded on background, though you should have around 12+ months experience in a QA or Software Testing role.

We’re looking for someone who has:

    • A basic understanding of software testing principles and how the testing lifecycle works.
    • Some experience testing web-based applications or user interfaces.
    • Exposure to API testing tools such as Postman (or a willingness to learn quickly).
    • An understanding of how Agile teams work.
    • Good attention to detail and the ability to think logically about how things might break.
  • The confidence to ask questions and learn from more experienced team members.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A genuine interest in developing a career in QA and software quality.

  • Bonus points for:

    • Any exposure to Microsoft Power Platform (model-driven apps or Dynamics 365).
    • Experience logging defects in Azure DevOps or a similar tool.
    • Any exposure to automation testing (e.g. Selenium, C#, or similar).
    • ISTQB Foundation certification.
    • Experience working with source control (e.g. GIT).
