Job Overview

Then HTT team in Kensington and Chelsea  might just have what you’re looking for.

Location - South Kensington (the team is split into 2 hubs, our other hub being based in North Kensington, St Charles Hospital, so staff are occasionally based on skill mix and service asked to work in the other half)

Main duties of the job

We will empower you to work innovatively, showing a commitment to providing compassionate care and a strong desire to improve patient care.

  • On-site shadowing for you with our services during the first two weeks, so that you can get a feel of all the areas and what they do to participate in the well-being of our patients. This includes Psychiatric liaison, etc.

To be an active member of the integrated HTT multidisciplinary team and provide individually tailored care packages for adults of working age, and their families/carers, who have severe and enduring mental illness.

To work in a therapeutic, client-centred way and use a range of evidence-based interventions to help promote recovery through individual or joint working with other professionals.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

Communication:

  • To be fully conversant with statutory and non-statutory services in the borough, and promote effective liaison, working relationships and operational links as appropriate.
  • To represent the HTT at Borough, Divisional, clinical and other meetings as required.
  • To ensure safe and effective delivery of care to service users utilising the knowledge and skills of staff.

  • Training:

    • To be available to receive clinical and managerial supervision.
    • To participate in academic meetings and teaching sessions.
    • To facilitate the learning environment for pre and post registration students.

    Policy and/or Service Development:

    • To participate in the formulation of policy and the development of the HTT, the rapid response functions of the service and the interface with the Single Point of Access.
    • To ensure that we continue to meet all the requirements for accreditation by the Royal College of Psychiatrists

    Management of Resources:

    • To take assist in ensuring adequate staffing resources are available to provide the service.
    • Assist in the recruitment and selection of staff.
    • To assist in ensuring compliance with legal requirements concerning the prescribing, storage, transporting and administration of medicines.

    Education And Qualifications

    Essential criteria

    • RMN/Diploma/Degree
    • Evidence of continued professional development
    • Valid UK registration with their respective professional body.

    Desirable criteria

    • Mentorship

    Experience

    Essential criteria

    • Previous experience as a Band 6 clinician in an acute or community setting.

    Skills and knowledge

    Essential criteria

    • Effective communication skills both verbally and through written reports.
    • Ability to assess complex risk and produce care plans to manage this
    • Effective leadership skills
    • Ability to take responsibility for managing a caseload
    • Ability to manage complex decision making situations.
    • Ability to organize and prioritise own workload.

    • Able to manage personal stress.
    • Previous experience of audit and research.

    • Expertise in particular skills and evidence of how you developed them and use them in your current role
  • Supervision, Line management and appraisal training

    • IT skills i.e. Microsoft word, Email, Internet, Motivated and able to motivate others, Assertive and enthusiastic.

    • Car driver, full driving license., Access to own transport.
