Description
In the role of Key Account Manager, you will be tasked with driving profitable sales growth for the Foodservice & QSR sector. Whilst managing an existing portfolio, you will spend approximately half of your time hunting for brand new end user business in the QSR sector. You will be expected to sell from a standard range of products where possible, as well as to generate new and bespoke products to meet customer’s needs.

You will develop and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders throughout your portfolio including, but not limited to, procurement, supply chain, sales, marketing and sustainability, and support the development of relationships between these customer functions and the matching Faerch function.

You will sell and manage your accounts ‘The Faerch Way’, supporting and driving forward our vision for true circularity in food packaging.

  • Grow and maintain profitable sales within existing and new customers.
  • Generate and maintain a pipeline of new opportunities, turning them into profitable new business.
  • Regular face to face meetings with customers, drawing on the resource and support available from within the UK region and the wider Faerch Group.
  • Help customers and prospects identify problems for which our products provide a solution.
  • Challenge customers on requests and ideas, making sure to gather all necessary information to ensure a successful result, and not being afraid to say no when the brief does not suit our capabilities or values.
  • Be accountable for your portfolio’s profitability, proactively making suggestions and taking actions to ensure continual improvement in the bottom line.
  • Support the NPD function by sharing market intelligence, then by taking new ideas to customers for feedback and to ultimately generate new sales.
  • Develop a collaborative working relationship with internal stakeholders from across the hierarchy.
  • Report monthly to the team as part of the sale meeting, covering topics such as successes, problems, pipeline and new business development, paranoias and market intelligence.
  • Ensure the Faerch CRM system is continually updated with the required information such as customer contacts, meeting reports and new business wins.
  • Communicate up, so that the business is never caught unaware of either a new business win or possible business loss.
  • Work within the parameters of business capability, capacity and strategy as set out by the business at all times.
  • Deliver on promises and focus on business goals to gain others respect confidence and trust.
  • Bring fact based and relevant information to any discussions, maintaining continuous focus on results.
