Join the Land Ceptor team and work to support the British Army & Export Customers in realising the full potential of their latest Ground Based Air Defence capability. In either case, you'll be building on world-class design: incorporating new ideas, functionality and technology to deliver to our customers.

Salary: Circa £48,000-£53,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

  • The opportunity:

    A new opportunity has arisen to lead the Shot Calculator hardware development. You will be responsible for the complete product lifecycle to introduce a new equipment capability to the Land Ceptor system. The Shot Calculator will be a high performance, ruggedised computing unit, integrated into a military shelter-type environment.

    You will work was part of the Weapon Systems Equipment team in a growing and fast-paced environment. You will need to develop key relationships wider project stakeholders such as System Design and Integration, Software Development, System of Systems Integration, Operations, Production and Supply Chain.

    What we're looking for from you:


    • Self-starting and self-motivated to deliver quickly and accurately in a complex environment
    • Manage the technical status and progression of the Shot Calculator programme
    • Liaise cross functionally, especially with software teams
    • Able to create and communicate hardware architectures for the required need and environment
    • Specify clear and accurate requirements to internal or external supply chains to realise the architecture
    • Deliver verification and validation strategies for the Shot Calculator
    • Experience with high performance and/or ruggedised computing hardware desirable
    • Experience with integrating electronic equipment in a rugged, military environment desirable
    • Work with Supply Chain to manage the design lifecycle with external suppliers, including make/buy decisions.
    • Facilitate the exchange of technical information from the internal or external supply base, alongside the procurement organisation
    • Understanding of the engineering design process
    • Opportunity to travel with the UK and Internationally
