A fantastic Opportunity: LCT Design Planner
We’re looking for a Design Technician to help drive our low‑carbon future by supporting the installation of technologies such as electric vehicle charge points, heat pumps and solar panels in homes across our region. In this role, you’ll assess applications, complete network studies, and take responsibility for the design, valuation and quoting of work up to and including LVSSA low‑voltage projects. You’ll focus on delivering safe, cost‑effective solutions that follow the Common Connections Charging Methodology while meeting Electricity North West’s policies and compliance standards. You’ll also play an important part in maintaining high data accuracy, meeting Ofgem requirements, forecasting project information, and ensuring every customer has a positive, proactive experience with us. What We're Looking For
We’re looking for someone who understands low‑voltage networks and has a genuine interest in low‑carbon technologies such as EV charge points, heat pumps and solar panels. You’ll appreciate the important role Electricity North West plays in the journey to Net Zero and bring experience from a customer‑facing role—ideally within the utilities sector, although equivalent experience is also valuable. You should hold an ONC or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or be willing to work towards this, and feel confident working in a results‑driven environment where meeting business and regulatory targets is part of everyday life. Being self‑motivated, adaptable under pressure and comfortable working towards clear goals will help you thrive, and any previous experience in electrical engineering design, electricity distribution or the wider construction industry would be a real advantage. Above all, we welcome people with curiosity, drive and a commitment to learning.
This role requires you to hold a full UK driving license.
