At CGI, you’ll help shape the data foundations and integration capabilities that underpin major digital transformation programmes. As a Lead Data & Integration Architect, you’ll provide strategic architectural leadership across data migration, governance and enterprise integration, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable and aligned to business objectives. Working closely with programme teams, suppliers and stakeholders, you’ll influence critical design decisions, provide independent assurance and help manage the risks and complexities associated with large-scale ERP and technology change. Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position but will require occasional trips to a client site in Mansfield.
Your future duties and responsibilities
In this role, you will act as the lead authority for data migration and integration architecture across a major transformation programme. You will define and assure the strategies, standards and principles that govern how data is cleansed, migrated, integrated and managed, ensuring supplier solutions align with architectural requirements, regulatory obligations and long-term business needs. Working across programme delivery teams and stakeholders, you will provide architectural oversight throughout the lifecycle, helping to reduce risk and drive successful outcomes.
You will review and challenge supplier proposals, oversee integration and migration designs, and provide formal assurance at key governance stages. Alongside this, you will work closely with business SMEs, programme leadership and technical teams to establish robust data governance practices, support testing and deployment activities, and ensure data and integration capabilities remain resilient, scalable and fit for purpose.
Key responsibilities:
- Define & Lead data migration strategy, principles and architectural standards
Review & Assure supplier migration approaches, tooling, mappings and validation methods Approve & Govern data transformation, cleansing, reconciliation and cutover activities Design & Oversee integration architecture across ERP and connected systems Assess & Challenge integration designs, APIs, data flows, identity services and error handling approaches Guide & Support the creation of development and test environments for migration and integration activities Maintain & Enhance data governance, quality, retention and audit compliance standards Monitor & Validate integration delivery, testing progress and implementation readiness Document & Control architectural decisions, standards, principles and assurance artefacts Advise & Influence programme leadership on architectural risks, dependencies and mitigation strategies
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
To succeed in this role, you will bring significant experience in data architecture, data migration and enterprise integration within large-scale transformation programmes. You will have a strong understanding of ERP environments, data governance and integration design patterns, combined with the ability to provide independent architectural assurance and challenge. You should be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, suppliers and technical teams while balancing strategic oversight with practical delivery support.
Essential qualifications and experience:
- Extensive experience in data architecture, data migration and enterprise integration roles
- Strong expertise in data migration approaches, ETL processes, reconciliation and validation techniques
- Deep understanding of integration architectures, including API-led, batch and event-driven models
- Experience defining and implementing data governance, data quality and information management frameworks
