They are looking for a Lead Engineer (tech focused - no management) to support a number of squads and really champion quality engineering.
In this role you will:
- Drive architectural direction, long‑term system strategy, and engineering excellence across multiple squads.
- Own high‑impact technical delivery - Lead full‑stack, cloud‑native engineering work that scales flawlessly across global sporting events, datasets, and user bases.
- Mentor engineers, guide design decisions, set engineering standards, and foster a culture built on curiosity, experimentation, craftsmanship, and autonomy.
- Work closely with Product, Design, Data Science, and other engineering teams across roughly 5 cross‑functional squads.

- Build cutting edge technology.... Such as (AI & machine‑learning features, Computer‑vision powered system, Smart hardware integrations, Performance analytics platforms, Real‑time data & video pipelines, New athlete‑facing tools, Entirely new product surfaces. Its all greenfield and always exciting.
Tech you’ll work with:
- C#
- TypeScript
- React / React Native
- AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, Redshift, serverless)
- Plus any backend language you bring:
- Python, Java, Go, Rust, Elixir… they are truly polyglot‑friendly (whatever the tech)
If you’re a great engineer with strong fundamentals, you’ll be considered! Tech Stack is not a gatekeeper.
Must‑Haves
- Strong full‑stack engineering background
- Experience building cloud‑native systems (AWS preferred)
- Ability to lead delivery across several squads (from a technical perspective)
- Experience mentoring engineers
- A product mindset
- Ability to translate ideas → architecture → scalable systems
A plus:
- AI/ML or computer vision exposure
- GraphQL, streaming systems, or distributed systems experience
- Background in performance, video, analytics, or sports tech (not required)
Work style:
- London office but open to remote/ flexibility

- Work across ~5 squads, each with significant ownership
Compensation
- £130,000 base salary
- 7.5% bonus
- $20,000 annual equity grant
- Full flexibility, zero micromanagement, and a mature engineering culture
