Are you passionate about transforming lives through faith, creativity and community?
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Lead Sessional Youth & Children’s Worker to join our mission in Rochdale, as part of the Diocese of Manchester’s ambitious Renewing Rochdale strategy. This initiative is revitalising Christian witness and community life through incarnational mission in some of the town’s most deprived areas.
About The Role
You will lead and develop innovative outreach initiatives for children, young people and families across the Cray and Belfield estates. Working alongside a committed team, you’ll build relationships, create spaces for discipleship, and nurture sustainable Christian communities.
This is a hands-on, missional role that combines evangelism, community development, and team leadership. You’ll be line managing two sessional workers and collaborating with local churches, schools, and community organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead engaging missional activities for children and young people.
- Build relationships that enable the Gospel to be heard and received.
- Create discipleship pathways and small groups for new believers.
- Lead and support a team of sessional workers and volunteers.
- Partner with local schools, churches, and community groups.
- Contribute to the wider vision of the Antioch Network and Nelson Street Resource Church.
What We’re Looking For
- A practising Christian with a heart for mission and discipleship.
- Experience in youth and/or children’s work, ideally in a church or community setting.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Creative and proactive in developing ministry opportunities.
- Understanding of safeguarding and pastoral care.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
Why Join Us?
This is more than a job – it’s a calling to be part of a movement that is bringing hope, faith and transformation to Rochdale. You’ll be supported by a vibrant network of churches and leaders, and have the opportunity to shape the future of Christian outreach in the area.
Closing Date: Tuesday, 30 September 2025
