This is a full-time post for a TAVI clinical Fellow in Cardiology for a fixed term period of 12 months. The successful candidate will support the aortic stenosis service development (TAVI Programme) development in the Cardiac Division.
The post holder will have an opportunity to gain clinical experience in the management of aortic stenosis, as well as acquiring practical knowledge and skills in TAVI procedures and dealing with procedural complications.

It is expected that the post holder would either be post-CCT or close to completion of CCT. The post holder is expected to contribute to the research, clinical improvement and audit activities of the TAVI programme. There will be opportunity to, and expectation of carrying out original research.
The Cardiac Division has been involved in TAVI procedures since 2008 and currently carries out approximately 150 procedures a year, using both self-expanding and balloon expanding devices. We have a well-established TAVI team comprising Cardiologists (Drs Abdelaziz, Choudhury, Gamal, More, Roberts and Wiper), cardiac surgeons (Mr Raimondo), cardiac anesthetists, TAVI nurses, TAVI coordinator. We have a robust and well-established MDT process for discussion of potential TAVI patients, and we are in the process of streamlining our referral process.
