LIMS Manager (AIS)

Chemtech Environmental

This is a hybrid role which can be worked from either Stanley, or Southampton. There will be travel required to both sites.

Who We Are

At Chemtech Environmental, we like to think of ourselves as an extension of your team — the kind that adds value without adding hassle (and yes, the sample containers are free). We keep things simple, personal and practical, offering tailored solutions and responsive support through our network of regional laboratories. With years of industry experience behind us, we help clients get the answers they need, make smart decisions and keep projects moving — all while sweating the small stuff so they don’t have to.

We're filthy and we're proud of it

Part of the Celnor Group

Celnor Group is a UK-based environmental services group operating across the Testing, Inspection, Certification and Compliance (TICC) landscape. With a growing portfolio of specialist businesses, Celnor provides essential services that protect people, property and the environment.

While each business retains its own identity, culture and technical specialism, all are supported by a central group function that invests in people, systems and long-term sustainable growth.

Job details

We’re looking for a forward thinking LIMS Manager to take ownership of our laboratory systems and drive real impact across the business. This is a key role focused on optimising our LIMS platform, improving workflows, and ensuring seamless, high quality data outputs that keep the lab running at its best. You’ll play a central part in shaping how the system evolves—bringing fresh ideas, enhancing performance, and supporting teams to work smarter, faster, and more efficiently.

What You Will Do

  • Be the go-to link between the lab and LIMS developers (AIS), leading updates, upgrades, and rollouts from idea through to smooth delivery.
  • Turn lab feedback into action driving system improvements, fixing issues, and keeping everything moving forward.
  • Own and shape the LIMS development roadmap alongside the Technical Director, bringing new ideas to life and delivering meaningful enhancements.
  • Keep LIMS running like a dream. Optimised, reliable, and supporting the lab at every step.
  • Partner with IT and the Technical Director to manage and evolve the AVD environment behind the scenes.
  • Lead testing of new features, making sure everything is compliant, robust, and ready to go live.
  • Bring the system to life for others—delivering training that’s clear, engaging, and empowers teams to get the most out of LIMS.
  • Play a key role in rolling out LIMS into new areas of the business as the company continues to grow.
  • Jump in to support the team when it matters most, troubleshooting issues and keeping operations running smoothly.

Who You Are

  • Strong LIMS knowledge (bonus points if you’ve worked with AIS) and comfortable navigating lab environments, SQL, and databases.
  • Excel confident, able to handle data, spot trends, and keep things running smoothly.
  • A proactive self starter who can crack on independently but also thrives in a team.
  • Highly organised with a sharp eye for detail, nothing slips past you.
  • A natural communicator who can explain things clearly and keep everyone on the same page.
  • Positive, flexible, and adaptable. You roll with change and get stuck in where needed.
  • Driven and accountable. You take ownership, use initiative, and deliver results (even under pressure).

Benefits

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays — and it increases the longer you stick around.
  • Performance bonus- win together, celebrate together.
  • Free on-site parking, because the only thing you should be hunting for at work is results, not a parking space.
  • Health and wellbeing programme to help keep both mind and body in good working order.
  • Life insurance (2x salary) for a little extra peace of mind.
  • Referral bonus of £1,000 if you bring great people into the team.
  • Sick pay and enhanced maternity & paternity pay to support you when life happens.
  • Christmas shutdown, giving you proper time to switch off, relax and enjoy the festive season.
