Job Summary
This is a full-time post for a Locum Consultant in Acute Medicine. Sub-specialist skills and interests and areas for development such as Clinical Leadership, Medical Education and Research will be encouraged. You will work together with other members of the acute medicine team and colleagues at Worcestershire Royal Hospital as part of an establishment of 10.5 WTE Consultant Acute Physicians to provide high quality, compassionate and holistic treatment for patients referred or self-presented to our Trust in the following areas: The Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), the Acute Medical Unit (AMU), the Emergency department and the Medical Short Stay Unit. Participation in GIM on call is optional but weekend cover (currently 1:7) is a requirement. 2 DCCs will be changed to specialist clinic activity if agreed with the successful candidate.
Main duties of the job
This job description, together with the job plan, will be reviewed annually and agreed with the Clinical Director and Divisional Director, on behalf of the Chief Medical Officer, to ensure that it continually reflects the areas of work, clinical responsibility of the post and purchaser requirements.
